Grill Care...

Remember to keep your proof of purchase to receive the benefit of the 2-year guarantee.
Your Cadac gas cylinder is guaranteed for a period of 2 years against defective materials and manufacturing faults. Natural wear and tear of cylinder, valve components and paintwork are excluded. The same applies to damage caused by improper handling, misuse or repair by an unauthorized LP Gas Dealer. Liability is limited to replacement of defective product.

The recommended life span of a LPG cylinder is 10 years subject to correct filling procedures, regular maintenance checks and proper storage.

Cadac LPG gas cylinders are manufactured to SABS ISO 4706 standards to ensure reliability and safety. It is in your own interest that regular maintenance checks are carried out by an authorized LP Gas Dealer* to keep your cylinder in a safe working condition.

• Never use in an unventilated room with all windows and doors closed.
• Never place a LPG cylinder on a stove and always keep it at least 1 meter away from any heat source.
• Always replace the Dust Protection Plug in the cylinder opening when cylinder is not in use.
• For safety, always remove the cylinder Control Key when cylinder is not in use (Control Key stores conveniently in carry handle).
• Always use the cylinder in an upright position.
• Always store and transport the cylinder in an upright position.
• When not in use, keep cylinder valve closed, even if empty.
• Contact LPGSASA (Liquefied Petroleum Gas SAfety Association of Southern Africa) Care Line on 0860 102 003 or www.lpgas.co.za/ for details of your nearest approved LP Gas Dealer.

Correctly handled, your Cadac LPG cylinder will be found to be extremely safe, efficient and reliable.
Here are a few simple - but important rules to remember :

• Ensure your cylinder is filled by an authorized LP Gas Dealer*.
• When filling the cylinder with gas, always ensure that it is not overfilled. Every cylinder has its own tare weight (ie. its weight empty) stamped on the foot ring. Each cylinder size is designed to hold a specific quantity of gas ie. No.3 Cylinder - 1.4kg No.7 Cylinder - 3.0kg No.10 Cylinder - 4.5kg No.13 Cylinder - 6.0kg Therefore the weight of the filled cylinder should not exceed the sum of the above two figures ie. tare weight together with weight of gas.
• If on checking you find that your cylinder is overfilled, proceed as follows : Take the cylinder outdoors, away from any naked flames, drains or openings to basements and open the bleeder plug slightly with a 4mm Allen key (do not remove). Liquid gas (in the form of a misty vapour) will emerge from the bleeder plug. Allow this to continue until the liquid flow stops and clear gas only comes out, then close the bleeder plug. However, it is the legal responsibility of the retail outlet, filling your cylinder, to ensure that it is not overfilled. Please ensure that the dealer checks the weight of the cylinder immediately after filling.
• Before fitting any appliance to the cylinder, remove the dust protection plug from the cylinder opening (always replace dust protection plug when not in use). Check that the sealing washer on the appliance is in place and intact. Then screw the appliance firmly into the cylinder opening. Fit the control key (stored in the cylinder carry handle) to the cylinder valve. With a flame ready, open the valve slightly by turning the key in an anti-clockwise direction. A gentle hissing will be heard. Without delay apply the flame to the source of gas on the appliance.
