CADAC may be the “new kid on the barbecue block” in North America, but they bring with them over 60 years of experience and dedication to versatility & quality.
CADAC was founded in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1948 primarily as a manufacturer of high end garden equipment. After realizing the potential for the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the African Bush, the company began manufacturing LPG cylinders and appliances and over the next few decades became a part of the fabric of the South African lifestyle. In fact, CADAC manufactures 90% of the portable LPG cylinders in the Southern Hemisphere today.
CADAC (meaning Commercial And Domestic Appliance Corporation) is one of the most recognized and trusted brand names in South Africa. In 1995 CADAC substantially diversified the business, expanding the brand to outdoor leisure, developing a full range of products to suit various outdoor lifestyles, whether it was camping, entertaining, hiking, tailgating or safari – but always staying true to their philosophy of ADVENTURE TO GO.
Everything they make needs to be versatile enough for any meal – breakfast, lunch or dinner, portable enough to carry anywhere – and durable enough to hold up - even in the African Bush (or any football stadium in America).
CADAC means fun, reliable, inventive and unique. The global product range includes the 5 in 1 cooking grills, disposable gas cartridges, domestic and industrial LPG cylinders, table top cookers & stoves, lamps, coolers, nylon tents, sleeping bags and camping chairs. CADAC began to expand into international markets in the late 1980s.
The demand for the company’s products has grown rapidly and today they are distributed and sold in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.
CADAC is constantly striving to make the concept of adventure to go more enjoyable through innovative thinking, continuous research and new product development. Improvements over the years include travel bags, vitreous enameling to make cleaning easier, multiple cooking surfaces, powder coated steel to prevent rust, non-stick coating of cooking surfaces allowing for hassle-free cooking, safe handles and the development of features like the Fire Up that are an improvement on competitive products.
